What are Spectrum's Connect services?
The Connect Senior Service Program is designed to enhance the well-being, connection, and quality of life of older adults served by Spectrum. Connect extends across Spectrum’s senior programs, creating opportunities for social connection, special outreach, access to community resources, and added support beyond our core services. Some services, such as wellness checks and pet support, are specific to Meals on Wheels clients, while others benefit clients throughout our Senior Meals and Fall Prevention programs.
Key Program Offerings Include:
⦁ Pet Program: Recognizing the important role companion animals can play in the lives of homebound older adults, Connect provides Meals on Wheels clients with donated pet food and other pet care resources as available.
⦁ Community Resource Referrals: All Spectrum senior clients can receive help connecting to additional resources when needs arise beyond the services we provide. This may include referrals to other Spectrum programs, community-based organizations, or social service agencies that can provide additional assistance.
⦁ Special Outreach & Activities: Throughout the year, Connect brings a little something extra to clients across Spectrum’s senior programs. Cards, plants, holiday treats, special activities, and other surprises help create moments of joy, strengthen connections, and remind clients that they are part of a caring community.
⦁ Social Connection: Building meaningful connections is an important part of all of Spectrum’s senior programs. Whether sharing a meal at a Senior Meals site, participating in a Fall Prevention class, or visiting with a Meals on Wheels volunteer, clients have opportunities to interact with others, build relationships, and remain connected to their community.
⦁ Wellness Checks: For Meals on Wheels clients, regular meal deliveries also provide an important opportunity for volunteers to check in, see how clients are doing, and identify when someone may need additional support.
The Connect Senior Service Program helps Spectrum go beyond our core services by creating additional opportunities for connection, support, and engagement. Whether through friendships formed at a Senior Meal site or Fall Prevention class, a friendly Meals on Wheels visit, a special delivery, help for a beloved pet, or a connection to another community resource, Connect helps our clients feel seen, valued, supported, and connected.
Through collaboration with local organizations, businesses, donors, volunteers, and community partners, Connect strengthens the network of support surrounding the older adults Spectrum serves and helps ensure clients can access additional resources when needs arise.
